On a 30 year old 90, I have some wiring issues that I'm working through. Most wires that I strip are not clean with black oxidation. The offside headlight has a poor earth and is dim. The indicators are intermittently intermittent!

Is it worth chasing the wires back to find clean copper? Will the whole loom be oxidised? At present, its the lighting wires through the wing tops that are an issue. Is it worth running a full earth from the cab forwards?

Just wondering if anyone has done this before and has a time-efficient solution.

I had this on my 2a, cutting back might not help. I cut back to decent wire then cleaned the black back to shiny metal again and didn't experience any problems

I had an issue with a wire from the old fuel sender. Corroded and decided to cut back to find clean copper. After cutting off around 4-5’ in 3-4” increments, I gave up and scrubbed the oxidation off! Once a new wire was soldered on and heat shrunk, it’s been fine.

I would be tempted to replace any earth wires with new ones. It’s a simple process.
