Hi I have series 3 109 with tailgate & rusted strip on rear of tub. Can anyone advise me if there should be seal on this, and is replacement metal strip available. Can find replacements for defender but not series as seem to welded in place. Any info will be appreciated.[GALLERY=][/GALLERY]

As far as I know its the same as the def. part. It's not welded if you clean a bit of the rust off you, ll find some rivets.
If you, ve got a tail gate I wouldn't worry about the rubber

Here are some possible numbers:
333159
332564
332566
325565
You'll have to check each one as the pictures in the parts book are very small and the descriptions vague.

The rubber maybe stops exhaust fumes being sucked in?
Dunno, but as said, simple rivits or screws hold it on, any difference between series and defender will just be in length but I suspect they are the same, if not, trim a defender one down if necessary.

Thanks, it’s 5251 aluminium and hardened so similar to birmabright , I got the two bits cut to size in 3mm got just under £50 so not that cheap, it’s stiffer than it needs to be so thickness could be reduced a tad , it does leave a thin space behind that could be used, I’m still thinking what for!

For cheap and useful when camping I love this tarp I’ve just got

I bought some 6mm stainless and a few kitchen blocks secured the inside with those star type spring washers you keep pram

wheels on with,
Considered the gas strut but this is simpler and cheaper and just use it when needed
