my windscreen seal and alpine seals are allowing water to pass (yes I know, surprise surprise). I don’t want to use something like tigerseal/Sikaflex or stixall as these are quite permanent. What would you recommend?

I think the stuff I have used before is called creeping crack seal or some silly name like that.
How much are new rubbers?

I’m not sure the seals are the issue. They are only 2-3 years old, and were covered in silicone when I removed them for the rebuild. They were very supple and like new when I refitted them. I’m almost certain the alpine window aperture has been cut by hand, and not the correct size. I don’t think this is helping.

I used clear silicone sealant from a builders merchant on my windscreen rubber 5 years ago. Been dry ever since.

Will that come off with something like mineral spirits, or white spirits? Thinking about when the seals will need renewing.

Its a bit labour intensive to get it off glass (same as getting it off a bath and ceramic tiles). I generally use a stanley knife blade to scrape the bulk off and wipe the last few scraps off with white spirit.

I think I may give this a try. Thanks for the heads up!

There are two different size glass thickess, the rubbers may be for the later thicker alpine window thickness.
