HELP *******
Disco 3, TDV6, 2008, Auto
Hi guys....in France at the moment. Car has been going fine until this evening. Just started it to drive away and a capital F is on the display with the message “Transmission fault, not all gears available”. Gearstick is stuck in Park and can’t be moved.
I have the Lynx diagnostics with me and that is showing “Actuator”A” voltage high” fault. I have tried to clear faults but getting “Not all faults cleared” Have also tried system reset without success.
Obviously I am immobile at the moment. Looking briefly at other posts, the handbrake is releasing.
Any hep or advic e will be appreciated,
Thanks

Also on display when engine running is “System fault-Special programmes off & Special programmes not available”
Have disconnected battery for 5 minutes with no change.
This is a fault that I have never encountered before.
Battery is good & fully charged

There seems to be a lot of previous posts on this but not many with a solution. One gave this procedure for releasing rob.
Select P if auto, apply foot brake. Push and hold EPB switch/lever down. Turn ignition on, wait for system check to cycle. Start engine. Release EPB switch/lever. The EPB should have now released
Probably of little use. I wish I could help. Good luck.

I know there's an emergency release cable for the epb, but sure I've read there's another one for the auto box/brake switch manual override or something? Have a look in the manual and check in same place as epb release.

LZIR @blue beasty ? @gstuart

OP says handbrake is releasing in first post. Strange one.

It hasn't got wet in there has it round centre console?

As mentioned there is normally a little pokey hole somewhere near the gear lever to manually unlock it. It may have a little cover that needs prising off first

Don't know about the D3 per se but have had to release park brake on numerous autos in order to load for Recovery etc
If there is/are cup holders or coin/pen trays in the vicinity of the gear selector....dig down and see if there is a release lever or cord under there. Pull hard and release gearbox. That might then let you move the vehicle...and may even allow it to start it if the problem was mechanical rather than electrical.
:)

Where in France are you? I am in the Tarn, near Mazamet. I know of a Good Landy garage not too far away.
Lots of posters do not seem to be reading the whole of this thread. You can start the car, yes? You CAN get the brake off, yes? But the car is stuck in Park and won't move, yes?
With the key out, can you move the gear lever to N? Can you start in that? I note the diagnostic said "not all gears available". Are ANY available? Reverse?
Found this "I have a similar problem with the 2006 D3 TDV6 Autobox. I have trawled around other sites for information and came across a really good easy fix for this fault. The problem is the Gearlever pivot arm that has corroded. Meant to be easy to fix and very clear instructions provided on the Disco3 forum. The parts cost £15 and can be done in an hour. Just google it."
Again "in regards to the gearbox fault on discovery 3 if its an automatic the pivot where the selector cable goes on lever at gearbox could be seized worked on landrovers for 16 years dont always trust main dealers".
Try looking at this http://www.disco3.co.uk/forum/auto-gear-selection-problems-46344.html
And this http://www.disco3.co.uk/forum/topic31656.html
By the way, I do not have a Disco 3 so this is purely research on the internet and a desire to help. pm me if you are not too far away.
