P38A EAS issue

The only time I have experienced that type of symptom is if it’s driven on the bump stops.

But you would gets loads of bleeping and messages as well.

Hmmm, the ride height when in standard height is 470mm from centre of the wheel to the top of the arch.
I measure it regularly because of the comfort issue I'm having intermittently and it's always constant even when the ride goes really harsh it's still at 470mm

Its definitely not on the bump stops, no warning messages and no fault codes

Shock absorbers.

New shocks & all bushes.
Like I say its intermittent, one day it will be nice and comfortable the next rock hard
Saying that, for the past 2 days it has been comfortable,
Could it be a driver pack issue? The thing is there's no messages or faults when recorded

If the ride height is the same can only be shocks. What shocks did you fit? Proper shocks are supposed to be 25% on compression and 75% on expansion. Standard Boge shocks are best.
 
Yes they are boge shocks,
But that still wouldn't explain one day it's a nice ride, next day crashing and banging like a goodun (on the same journey)
The fact it's not constant is what I'm having trouble with

It certainly cannot be the driver pack, all that does is allows the height to maintained/changed.
If the height remains constant, the spring rate of the air springs cannot change.
What make of shocks did you fit? I would put money on it being one ore more defective shocks.
 
I fitted boge shock absorbers, it had monroe on previously.
Is it possible for a shock absorber to be ok, then bad, then ok again?
Like I say sometimes it drives like a dream, then goes back to being harsh
Could the driver pack not be maintaining the correct height when the car is in motion?
By the time I've stopped, got out and measured the heights, the car has adjusted itself anyway
Can I use eas suite when driving to monitor the height sensors to see if there is any drastic change in height whilst in motion?

If it dropped to the bump stops while you were driving, it would have to rise very quickly to be back up to height by the time you got out, and as it always rises rear first, it would be hard not to notice it adjusting. The Driver pack only does what the ECU tells it to do, it changes the signals from logic levels to the level needed to drive the solenoids in the valve block. If the car was dropping to the bump stops, the car should be going into fault mode with a message on the dash, either EAS Fault or slow 35mph.
You can certainly get duff shocks even Chinese copies of the real thing. Was the car OK before you changed the shocks? Are the shocks you fitted the correct ones for the car?

No it was like this before I changed the shocks, i was hoping that was the problem.
Yes they are definitely the right ones and from a reputable supplier

OK if it was same on the previous shocks, it would seem you can rule them out.
If you have no messages on the dash, carry a stick with a mark at window height with the car at normal height. stop quickly (and safely) when it goes hard drop the window and see if the cart is sitting below the marked height.

If he held the foot brake then opened a door when stopping would it not stop any height change?

No messages on dash, plus no faults registered, checked using EAS unlock suite.
eas indicator is on standard height, obviously unless I go above 55mph for a bit then it drops to motorway height etc
