P38A anyone got the dimensions to make the rear brackets from chassis to side of bumpers?

hi all. i have just found out that the brackets from chassis to side bumper fixing at rear of car. have nearly rotted completely away. i cannot find them listed anywhere as a buyable item. any ideas of dimensions so that i can get some made and welded onto car?

Same situation with me, no measurements unfortunately.

Probably worth cutting them off a scrapper and welding them to yours IMHO.

I’m not certain of what dimensions you mean - but I do have a P38 and a measuring tape if that is any use to you and you are stuck??

Probably best to draw around and note how far out they stick.

Cover it in silicone and send you mould? (As in a casting mould, not mildew) cut it finely into a template. No That’s extreme.

- Pic on phone of what you need, il take pic of same and put key with dimensions.

Best If you have a welder and metal just make whatever suits? If it fits , it fits doesn’t have to be exact same.

I know what he is on about. Where the bumper comes around the side there is a square block on the bumper. That slides into a bracket and the bracket has a spring clip that rotates down and holds it. All the crap from the road flies up so half the time you cannot even see them ... So they rot. Don't think they're removable and they're certainly a very specific size and shape. Tricky!

Grrrrrr's description is absolutely right, they are welded to the chassis. you can buy the block that goes onto the end, that fixes it to the rear bumper probably this

i cant seem to find a parts catologue , with decent pictures of parts

took dimensions from another 1995 4ltr se. now all i need to do is get hold of some offcuts of 12gauge(2.5mm) 245mm x 235mm. a cnc. a folder and a welder. if i get hold of the offcuts i could quite easily make a handed pair. but would take quite a few hours. the only reason i'm looking for a c.n.c and folder is it would work out a lot easier and cheaper to have them mass made if anyone else needs a pair.

question 1, do i drill holes in 15mm flanges on chassis side and plug weld to chassis, or continuous weld all around?
question 2, do i powder coat before welding on. or spray after?

Continuous weld would seem more permanent, should imagine either would do depends on your time, circumstance and ability to not melt yourself can do both?

I Normally see things sprayed after welding would penetrate better I would think

It doesn't have to be strong but it might need doing again. That might influence your decision? Paint afterwards.

brackets in process of being made, awaiting anr2500 bracket to arrive, to get the dimensions to drill hole, weld locknut on and make its locating slot. could take a while.

picture included is not right measurements for manufacturing as i have not allowed for folding, but it does show the horrible shape needed to cut steel too.
also it does not include the hole for m8 locknut or the slot for anr2500 location
