For a start,go and get the Euromillions lottery ticket for tomorrow! ! just had a read through and wonder if you know the service history? Do a search for my post "running out of get up and go" have a read and see if my problem fits your symptoms. :)
Hi I read your post but to be honest iv been a V8 man for far to long, but any advice is always welcomed. And I took your advice and bought 10 Euro lottery tickets

Also I have just noticed that the gear selector will only go as far down as 2nd
I had that exact same issue, turned out to be the quadrant on the side of the gearbox that was US, I opened it up but a second hand one was so cheap it wasn't worth tinkering with. Make sure Neutral lights up OK as well or it won't transfer to low range.

Hi I had it scanned on the nanocom this evening and there was no engine fault codes even the boost pressure was good, but the XYZ switch was showing a fault. It select's low range no problem. but the gear selector needs adjusting, hopefully after that has been done it should be ok

Hi iv managed to get a good second hand one for £30 and iam picking it up tomorrow, if that doesn't work the cheapest one new is £230 cash, thanks for the heads up on the neutral lights

Well done, its a good start...... often with these things you just have to chip away a bit and see what makes a difference. Gearbox ECU's seldom give trouble. Once you have all the faults sorted it will give you more of an idea what the probable cause is.

I iam like minded about things like this, just keep on at it and eventually I should find the problem, thanks again

Just a quick update my landy is in the garage and it's having a good second hand KYZ switch and new automatic fluid and filter. Also iv bitten the bullet and ordered a Nanocom it should be hear in a few days

Got my nanocom this morning and iv just done a scan and no faults found in either the engine or gearbox, so it's going in to my local garage next Wednesday for new filter and oil in the gearbox and see what happens then finger's crossed

Hi was wondering if there is a problem with any switches on the gear selector handle would the nanocom show it? It's only that when I pull the gear lever down to 1st only 2nd is showing on the display.
Thanks in advance

that need adjusting first , you can feel the different detents with the lever on the box cable removed, if the lever is in the fully forward detent lever in cab should be in p tighten cable back then try each gear through to 1

Post #19. When James speaks you'd do well to listen. One of the most respected members on here, especially when it comes to transmissions.

Well some very good news, got my RR back from the garage and it is now fixed. After all that it was just the automatic oil and filter needed changing. The mechanic said it looked like it hadn't been changed in a while, so it's going back after 500 miles or so and get it changed again. Thank you everyone for your help and advice. Also if anyone is in need of there's scanning you only have to message me

Post #2 nailed it then! All the rest was putting off the inevitable!
Haha and there's me thinking I'd need a new gearbox, also I tackled the hevac display last night and that works a treat now. Then I went for a drive to the petrol station £104 later, I didn't realise the tank was that big lol. My next job is the driver's side tailboard catch isn't working. Thanks once again for all the help and advice

Oh dear I spoke to soon, went out to the RR this morning and low and behold it's back to the way it was before. I think my only next option is a reconditioned box, thought my luck was in yesterday but no
