Under Body Sealent

Lost count of how many times Ive had this rear Tub on then off again whilst lining things up, but Im just about ready to fit it back on for good this time.
Will give it a coat of some kind of underseal, so will use spray cans as have not got use of compressor to spray so not sure which to use, been done once before by the looks of it but needs doing again. Seems ok but as all the reviews say, time will tell. When its the right way up or back on the chassis, get some waxoil/dinitrol on top of those crossmembers in the channels.

Think Ill give it a try, just wondering how many cans it will take to do whole underside of Tub.

Cant see it anywhere. Just looked on Halfords there selling same 600ml can for 9 quid, ripoff

I bought 2 cans off eBay and they are still going strong after spraying fuel tank and rear crossmember and underside of tub.

It depends on the car the coverage is 2m/L .

Thats unbelievable.

I have used it, and I also took the screws out of the hinges one at a time and sprayed inside bulkhead with it, using an extention spray tube. I covered my galvanised chassis with it, as well as all the suspension parts, it is very good on all the rubber bits too, dust covers on track rod ends etc and stops them drying cracking and keeps the nuts and bolts free of rust, chassis and axles needs a light recoat every couple of years as it tends to get erroded due to water friction over time. I bought a 5 ltr can and brushed it on my chassis and used spray can for bulkhead and other places. Warm it up before using.
(Galvanised chassis get a white powder coating of oxidation over time, waxoyl protects it)

Before application but the cans in a tub of warm water for 10 mins

First pic took 2 cans, used third to finish off then used rest of can.
Seems really good stuff, will see how it dries then might go over again.
Will do the bottom of diesel tank too, where else should I be doing ??

I have used the Hammerite Black Underbody Seal (in both brush & spray form) for well over 20-years and swear by it, along with the clear wax for cavity use it is a well proven product.
