Just keep the old EGR and replace it before the MOT .

I can’t see any TD4 getting failed for not having an EGR unless the engine is trashed anyway. I think my TD4 was dirtier and emitted more with the EGR on.

It's a visual inspection, so a fail is reliant the inspector knowing what the correct EGR valve looks like, in comparison to the bypass.

Jamie Cox of JCTuning did my 02MY Td4..... wow! What a change for the better.
Improvement in MPG too. see image below.
It should be noted I was on best behaviour on this occasion...even so, its damn good.
Got to 615 miles before I lost my bottle and filled up.....

Also done EGR delete, replaced hoses with Silicon Hoses, I use Lucas Oils UCL each fill up, and a TerraClean......[GALLERY=] [/GALLERY]
