Air filter/box identification

hi all.

I’ve got a 1970 3.5 v8 in my series Land Rover. It currently has the pancake k&n filters on it.
However, from a bit of reading, the standard air box seems to be a favoured option.

I have a collection of bits as pictured.
The air filters were just rattling around in the air box, and don’t seem to be fitting over the brackets.

Google shows a load of different filters, yet I don’t know which ones I need to buy ‍

Any help would be great!

That air box isn’t shown in either of my parts catalogues, which I have for the carburettor equipped RR or disco but then they don’t go back to 1970.

I’m thinking, from pics that I’ve seen, it maybe an air box from a p6.

That an SD1 air filter assembly, by the looks.

Rover 110 maybe, as they have twin carburettors, so perhaps start looking in the parts bin for classic cars, with classic prices unfortunately, but u just need the correct filter/s if u still have the rubber bits & bobs

That is the same airbox and filter set up as mine. I know the engine came from a 1971 P6B auto (obviously 3.5 V8) so assume the airbox came with it. Here's mine. I replaced the original filters and put a silicon hose on the feed at the front of the airbox with a K&N on the other end near the grill to get some cooler air feeding the carbs. I hav ethe original filters so can get some part numbers off them if you need them.

Ahhhhhhhhh... SU carbs. I remember the fun times I had adjusting them on my '67 Jaguar 420.
