You know it’s bad when you wake up and your wife asks you who Max is and why is he only going 35mph :D:D:D
hahaha that would be funny if it weren't true!!

I like EAS and I like the beep, just as few beeps as possible..

my main issue with battery disconnection is the eka lockout.. losing sync.. becm sync and the fact I only have one keyfob, hence trying to avoid further disconnections

Ah I understand your reluctance. Since you haven’t gone down the route of new keys, locks, becm etc and since you’ve been struggling I’m guessing you do not have a nanocom. I’m sure you’ve mentioned new key batteries in past.

have you tried just locking it with the key rather than fob? I know it’s not the same but..
There is someone on here does fob works @Grrrrrr, is it ‘him’ again ?;)

dont have a nanocom yet.. i will do once i know the landy is worth spending the money on..
the fob works just fine as of last night, so do the locks and becm, i'm just aware of all the issues so many have
I do occasionally get the 'key batt low' on the dash display, even though the battery isn't actually low, however

i just want to get the damn thing working, by working i mean able to drive 10 miles in one go, without the engine spitting its dummy. at the moment its just a drive ornament and I still have the car which the landy was supposed to replace!!
so far its been head gasket(spitting coolant/airlocks), camshaft, valley gasket coolant leak, so spitting coolant/airlocks, latest, new head to fix the valley gasket leak

valley gasket
Ah, that means only one thing. One of them watchamacallits.....

V7?....

... V8’s that’s the ones!

That’s just the way they are bud, head gaskets are like oil changes for ‘em. Nout you can do except get a Reinz ready for next time and tattoo RAVE up your arm :(
They’re okay if you look after them and don’t cook the heads, once it’s done you should be okay for a while.

one of them.... what!? lol! the thread was stripped in the head, so wasn't holding the manifold on tight
Reinz?? whats this?
i'm really hoping that once i get the ancillaries bolted on, the engine will start and will get hot without getting an airlock!! I know my liners are good, brand new camshaft and assuming I've got the inlet manifold tight.. hopefully the valley gasket wont leak anymore!! it should be air and water tight!! and should be capable of driving to MOT.. unless something else breaks before i get there
then I need to figure out how to test the LPG parts, solenoids etc to see why it cooked the LPG ecu!! but thats one for another thread

Yes we have side tracked from SRS....

There is no cure for green oval syndrome you know...
Just oily hands therapy, ogling and the padded room full of members past....
And Wammers, poor guy must have lost the plot years ago and just went with it ;)
No one knows how he got his long sleeves off :D

Elring is a standard oem type gasket, which is fine (is that what you had?) There are other manufacturers do their own - Victor Reintz is a v.good quality. Also seen MLS (multi layered steel) for racing I presume, not sure that’s good with alloy head or not though?

Ask @Henry_b about lpg he seems interested in them.

Good luck with MOT - try not to explode the dash before

MrSporty is the fob man. Has his own eBay shop although not sure what his username is.

oh.. theres a cure!! you simply buy another. bought my 2a in the mid 90's and was mostly reliable apart from when i broke the layshaft. we went everywhere together
i cant remember who made the gasket :D

Victor Reinz gaskets are the only ones I'd use..

The RV8's HG's shuld last if the head is torqued perfectly and quaility composite gaskets are used..

The heads don't turn to butter like the derv's ;) oh and the chains don't go up the creak lolz ;)

As for the LPG it's possible the wiring is up the creek..

Check the wiring to the ECU and Injectors..

You'd be amazed how much quieter the V8 is if you change the chain if it has done more than 100k. Worth doing.

I did the chain and gears with the camshaft :)
Because the fuse to the lpg ECU blew, it's been previously suggested one of the solenoids had died, don't know how to test though
