I have had my discovery 2 for 18 months and love it but, I can drive for 20,30 or 40 miles no problem, then from nowhere the steering column vibrates quite severely anywhete from 50 mph plus. The next time I drive it it starts after just a mile or two. I've been advised to fit a new steering damper but if you have had the same thing and fixed it please let me know what you did many thanks.

Your best to jack the front end up and give the steering components a good inspection checking for any play in wheel bearing or the ball joints also take your wheels off and check for any deformities with the tyres whilst wheels are off this will let you see most of the steering components. If your a total novice i'd recommend having a look at this youtube channel he has a quite a few videos on checking steering components etc. https://www.youtube.com/user/trailerfitter2
