Td4 issues misfire and black smoke.

Hi guys. I'm getting to the end of my tether with my 04 Td4. I'm having issue and need some help.

The problem is the fairly common missfire issue arround 2000rpm. I'm missfireing with a bad Rattle and black smoke above about 1700 - 2000rpm. To the point of being almost undriveable.

Iv deleted the egr, changed the leaking leak off pipes, had the injectors serviced, replaced the warn vac tube to the turbo wastegate, run through redex and engine flush and a full service. But still the problem persists. My next step is to replace the seals in the high pressure fuel pump and if that dosent work then change the fuel rail pressure sensor and loom. But any other ideas would be very very welcome.

Couple of things you could try is remove the manifold & clean it out, first remove the MAP sensor from the manifold once it is off the car, clean that also with some carb cleaner on a rag, do not poke anything into the MAP sensor hole.

Check all intercooler hose for tiny split or holes, if the hoses look suspect at all change them.

I'd have checked the rail sensor for corrosion first, especially if it's still got it's original dodgy harness.
