What's people's thoughts on them as ive fitted a 12j bonnet on my td5 with spare wheel and to save all the hassle of drilling and tapping to get td5 bonnet catch i thought id throw some military type catches on

If you just have a bonnet release inside the cab you would need a second person to open the bonnet.
They don’t pop up very easily with a spare wheel on them.
I would go for the military catches.

There is no catch system at all no cable or latch at the moment

Apart from lack of security I have no issue with mine. I only have the military clips, the civi bits aren’t functional and the bonnet doesn’t have the pin

Nothing inside the engine bay at all

I have military clips and they have very tight springs. If you have genuine Ones then they won't fly open.
