CLUTCH push rod length ? part number ??

Hi guys
i have just installed a 300 TDI into my defender with a R380 gearbox.
i am concerned i have fitted a incorrect clutch rod , the one i was sent was longer than original with part number
FTC3912 , although it did bolt up ok im not sure if correct ?
can anyone confirm please .

What is the difference in length?
As the rod is on a spring return from the clutch operating lever, I would have thought that the only difference in its performance would be that the rod goes deeper into the slave cylinder, which should be OK.
Anyone else have an opinion?

If it was only a small difference could be the old one was worn.
