Help a noob out (a Disco 2 suspension question)

Hello guys,
I have a 2000 disco 2 , it's my first 4x4 and I love it so far.But I have a question that everyone here would know. What the hell is this thing for?(please see the attachment)

Drag link mount for left hand drive ain't it? Unused on yours at its right hand drive, your drag link goes from steering box drop arm to knuckle on the left hand side

Correct, mine is the same.

Mine too. I was worried I had a bit missing from the truck when I first got her and saw that.

Vaguely remembered from doing steering arms on mine

mine has something on it but not on the other side, but it is left hand drive

Ah, but I don't have that arm on the left hand swivel housing as mine is an early LHD and was built in a period when there were specifically handed parts, bean counters worked out that it was far simpler and thus cheaper to make a generic part (with the exception of halogen headlights of course) and thus eliminate the handed issue and thus the ability to ship parts and components globally for the LHD markets without the need to worry about the handing.

In case you were wondering about the headlamp issue, only Halogen are handed, xenon and LED headlamps have a "flat" beam spread by design and thus are not handed.
