Finally changed the cheap want’a’be momo steering wheel the guy I got it from had put on and replaced with a nice stock TD5 one! Indicators now cancel as they should, it’s on straight and handles soooo much better. Happy days

Strapped a GoPro to the chassis rail and went trundling to find the source of my latest rattle, sounds like a stack of aluminium plates being shaken in a sack when going over a bump.......




......didn’t take long, trailing arm bushes shot to bits - rattle about like a Ginger Baker solo.

Off to the Gaydon LR show tomorrow, if it’s pooh i’ll be returning early for some more punishment under the Landy

Drove it for the first time this week.
Still has the mud from Monday's green laning up the doors. May wash it soon

I started her up and let her run for 15 minutes. Radiator warm all over matched temp gauge not working but secondary gauge all good
No leaks

Drove it ter wurk un back. Never missed ur beat. Eater wurks anorl.

yes after thinking about it and driving about today, I like my sus springs as they are so Ill just get them replaced I would imagine their just standard I do carry tools I have fitted so shelves in the Rear I will add a pic, but the ride is nice almost maybe too bouncy but I'm not doing springs yet I thing the rust is appropriate for now. the front centre steering I think looks like terrifirma from the research I've done..... here's my general load which is an old picture so its not as tidy and theirs more tools now. the last image is not my usual sag that was an extremely heavy load and on the roof severeal sheets of 18mm glass, plus my bike which over hangs a metre or more behind. hah.

Looks very neat and workmanlike. If it's a tool truck for work, you might benefit from something a little stiffer on the rear so it doesn't sit too low. The handbook payload for these is typically in excess of 700kg so it'll be fine In standard trim, but the rear tends to sink when you're getting close to this.

I would suggest Discovery springs on rear, my 90 sits a little higher with them fitted as disco is heavier and 90 lighter without load, my 90 doesn't sag with heavy trailer and has nice soft ride when empty but then you are always loaded. You could use air bags to assist the springs, my mate has them on his six wheeler

Replaced the radius arm bushes. Took twice as long as I thought it would. Things always do
Inner tube loose

Inner tubes just tapped out cos the were goosed.
Did three saw cuts to get bush out.
Used a big wood pad saw to cut slot in rubber first

Knocked the small wedge out and the bush just fell out


Lubed the poly bushes and tapped them in with a mallet.
Test drive and it's a solid drive again

Front end wobble, similar to when the panhard rod bushes go. Mrs refused to use it for work on Friday because of how it was shaking on Thursday. Having said that, she new the bushes had arrived and I planned to replace them today.
Britpart bushes used during the rebuild never again. The centre tubes had come away from the rubber and the rubber was starting to come away from the outer tubes too. You can see in the picture where I knocked the first wedge of bush out, the rubber fell off the outer tube leaving clean metal. The thing with those bushes is they hold on that inner metal tube, up against the bracket on the axle. The poly bushes, on the other hand, have a poly bush flange that goes out to the width of the tube. Everything is then clamped inside the bracket, tube and poly bush material.

After three weekends and many evenings of I finally got to the stage of a road test. Noting that after 20 minutes of idling there was no sign of a leak and the temperature looked good, we pushed off for a days driving......... 15 miles, thats all the brand new water pump lasted before its bearing seal gave up and started marking its territory on the road . I will order a better part this time I am putting the old one back on as there was nothing wrong with it and I only changed it as you usually do when doing a timing belt

Damn, not good. Does the 200tdi have an auto tensioner or is it set manually?

On amore positive note, I took the roof off of mine and enjoyed driving around getting the wind in my hair.

No auto tensioner so I followed the instructions in the book. I don't have any hair so I won't take my roof off

Been marshalling a half marathon this morning, in some woods near us. Got back about two and replaced the panhard rod bushes. Only changed them a few weeks ago, but want happy when I put them on as they felt soft. They were yellow

New ones are harder and red


Not long changed the drop arm ball joint either, but the boot has split already

Bought an OEM G suffix one for nearly 4 times the price and fitted that too.

Everything tight as a drum now.
