Guys, first of all, thx a lot for a lot of great input I could read. But could not find satisfying input on my pb. On my TD5, I am experiencing a scary metallic noise from under the hood, at around 100km/h, kicks in progressively under load. The first time I experienced this, I released the accelerator, pushed the clutch in, willing to safeguard the engine. The rev started increasing with no limit, could not lower the rev, and so released the clutch. Everything came back to normal then, but from that time, I am releasing the accelerator when I hear that noise coming ... I cannot find a good mechanic around here, who would not suggest replacing many expensive parts. Any body can advice where to start, what to check, etc. I want to instruct the garage what to check and limit money spending to what is necessary.Thx for your precious input.

Hard to diagnose from here but could well be your turbo is failing. I'd get it looked at ASAP before you have a runaway
@Kev12 : checked the turbo, the wastegate actuator, all around this area - all clear.
You will probably laugh : I checked the oil level, as my baby has recently been serviced. The guy loaded the engine with almost 4L too much.
Thx for your input anyway.

Doesnt really explain the noise you were experiencing, fingers crossed it was just oil and not diesel, I'd keep an eye on the level
