Afternoon all,

I have a 2006 Range Rover Sport 2.7 and seem to have a bit of a issue,

I went to start the car the other day and it just turned over but did not fire up. I tried it a few times throughout the day and it kept doing the same thing until eventually the battery died, so I re charged the battery and tried again and it still carried on turning, there is no warning lights on the dash but when I am turning the ignition the battery light does flash (can’t remember if it was like this before).
Any help is very much appreciated .

Cheers all

There is a fuel pressure pump driven by a belt at the back of the engine has that broken also the timing belts at the front of the engine but if they are broken then the engine would sieze up when the pistons hit the valves .there is also an issue with the oil pump housing on the 2.7 and it should have been replaced with the later oil pump as that can cause major problems if left unattended but would also sieze the engine up as it causes the timing belt idler mounting to fail and give the same results as a broken cam belt.
My nanacom has the Disco 3 unlockl in it but dont know if it will read the RR sport engine because its the same engine it the BECM and other ecus are different

Looking at the manual there is also an in tank pump that could have packed up and this bit of info was also found :-

During starting, the fuel rail pressure must be at least 150 bar. Should the pressure be below this figure, the injectors will
not operate, resulting in the vehicle not starting
