And so here I am. Hi!

It's a 2006 TD4. Mostly in good condition, though the brakes might need some seeing to. I had to replace the locking nuts today. No idea what the previous owner thought he was doing, replacing them with nuts that had the wrong profile and didn't even do their job (I got three of them off without the key by leaving the covers on).

Which led me to my current issue. The nuts on the spare wheel mount were sticky, so I hit them with some wd40 and had a good go at getting them off. Two came away. One went ptang and just spins in place now. I guess I broke the mount. Is there an easy way to fix this or am I just going to have to eat the cost and get a replacement mount?

Is the nut spinning on the threaded stud?

Just weld a new stud onto the mount.
