Clutch replacement

You can fit a Defender clutch pedal assembly, its essentially identical to the Series one but the pedal is made from plate rather than a pressed channel section and the foot pedal is smaller. Get one with an assist spring fitted, makes the pedal so much lighter you wont believe it.

Hi all, the clutch pedal on my 78 ser 3 is getting a bit sticky at the pivot, it’s a LHD so the brake servos on top of the pedal box....garage man reckons might be best to replace It, so does anyone know if this https://www.britpart.com/non-accessory-parts/skb500280 will fit?

I’ve heard about putting a td5 pedal in, but I don’t know if that will do with the brake servo on top!
Thanks!
Be prepared for a pig of a job if you're changing the clutch pedal on a LHD. It involves removing the mud shield and steering box cover and undoing all the bolts that secure the back end of the wing.
Might be worth trying to lubricate the pivot in situ somehow?
On my ex-MOD LHD 109, I had to change the clutch master cylinder. In a previous life, someone had cut a piece out of the top of the wing in an attempt to get at the clutch pedal, then pop-rivetted a plate on to hold it back together. I ended up removing the patch and changing the cylinder from the top because even with the bolts out, I couldn't remove the pedal without removing the brake servo.
Sooner or later, I'm going to have to have the wing off to renew the footwell and repair the dumb irons, so I'll get the chance to derust, paint and lubricate the pedals at that time.

It was OK when my mate and I did the master cylinder, lifted off the brake servo, then took the clutch and box out through the cab...I don’t have any facilities now to do anything, so garage it is...

....excellent, thanks very much!

Worth getting it cross drilled and a grease nipple fitted before you install a replacement.
