I thought you needed as special tool to get these tight. I think there are a couple on the fuel filler system. I dumped whatever was there in favour of jubilee clips as I couldn't get them to tightened.
 
As well as their familiar clamps, Mikalor also make "jubilee" clips. Far better than a standard clip IMHO and can be tightened to about 7NM without the screw thread slipping. I could not get a jubilee clip tight enough to keep a silicone intake hose clamped to the thin, recessed pipe on the turbo intake and it was too narrow for a Mikalor clamp. A Mikalor ASFA "jubilee" clip has been perfect. They even make them in titanium or in constant tension varieties.

They are very good, got some T bolt clamps for my silicone hoses

Used the thinner mikalor stainless steel clip for the bottom hose as the intercooler outlet is oval

Have to admit, I quite like the Ear Clamps as pictured a few times above. Sometimes a bit awkward to get to, where a screwdriver would prevail but give a good firm circular grip.
