Your correct Keith, all the manufacturers are doing the same now. A lot of good cars go to the scrap yards because of uneconomical electronic repair costs. That is a "big throw away society" issue... But emissions and power needs are a must..

When it comes to emissions on diesels, ADDBLUE and SCR can be added to most electronically fuel injected diesels for not a lot of money. Much less polluting than scrapping and building new cars. The name of the political game is to keep the (false) economy going by forcing people to buy.

I thought it was a bank holiday today? There's bugger all in at the moment even the bus is happy! wood touching panic!!
It's not really a car industry anymore... The goals have changed to technology and lifestyle rather than reliability and long-term...

I feel that way about it.

Only way I can see is to make manufacturers responsible for disposal. So anything from Land Rover is collected at the dump and taken back to them for disposal. Pretty sure the parts would be reusable or fixable PDQ then.

I believe that Ejokes are being taken straight from Hailwood to be fragmented because they cannot sell them, or so a transporter driver told my friend.

That is a very good idea. Actually if they were held accountable for the "safe and correct processing" of their own products using their own "safe and correct procedure". It may change the way the cars are indeed manufactured and marketed...

They have same badge but little more in common anymore. You know yourself when members ask you how to fix new RR systems that are so different to ours they think we are being ignorant when told ‘not a clue sorry’ they believe they are the same vehicles

L322 issues I could tag Saint in for them.
Same for Discos, Freelanders whichever

- L405 my only current option would be to send them away to another site that may be able help. This may be problem for LZ survival long term


It’s up to us to do something about it , there is no one else to do it for us

I don't know, the L405 is as rare as hens teeth here in France, the Sport and Ejoke seem to be the most common, before it was discontinued the D3/4 were the favourites after the Defender that is. There is a waiting list for second hand D4's at the nearest JLR dealer.

I can believe that about D4’s. I’d have one now, if they still made them!

Meanwhile, the 405 is common enough here in the UK.
