Hi,
I want to repair one of my door actuators but try to find where you can buy the 12v DC 10,000rpm motor that is inside them.

Does anyone know where I can order these or provide me with the details of the motor?

I would like to buy the motor and than take it apart rather than take it apart and then look for one.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

This write up is great:

i'm not sure you can find exactly matching motors as spare but usually only the lock/unlock motor is failing(if it's a motor issue) so you can use the superlock motor instead of it and leave superlock inactive as it can give you more trouble than protection at a time.... though, in most cases not the motor itself is gone but parts of the mechanism are worn... IMO it's not a repair to last long and being quite hard to replace better bite the bullet, put new one and you're covered for the next up ton10 years again

Thanks again Sierrafery, on the ball as always!
I might swap the motors and see how it all looks like. It is only one door that won't open. It locks fine but won't open with the central locking system.

I made some research, actually they are 12.500rpm motors, the original Johnson 20005 3C1562 are no longer available but if anybody insists to repair the latch actuator, there are alternative motors available only in USA http://www.ebay.com/itm/Mabuchi-Nic...lat-D-Round-Collar-FC280PC22125-/111198111739 , the one with 20mm shaft needed, very good tutorial here http://www.northamericanmotoring.co...lock-actuator-internal-motor-replacement.html , i repaired one few years ago(for a friend who insisted) by using the superlock motor instead of the lock/unlock one but it lasted less than 1 year so that's why IMO it's better to fit new cos it's not very simple to replace the actuator

Have repaired all 5 of mine. The only thing that was a pain was getting them out first off and had to reverse two wire as the motors are wired in reverse to the originals. Cost me 20 AU dollars to replace all motors and have plenty of spares, and a few skinned knuckles. also used a heat gun to help fold back the white plastic lugs without breaking them.

Anyone got an up to date link for these replacement motors?

Must be cheaper than a S/H mechanism

What a PITA, anyway I have ordered some more motors and going to use some old locks to stick gears on ready.

I hope my superglue holds on the one I did today.

Cost me £10 so I hope it is good enough. (Modelling stuff)

Superglue does NOT work, including some strong stuff.

Motor also turns the other way, that will require some wiring mods.

Outside handle disconnected so cannot be opened until I get my gunge.
