Hi i have a Free lander 1 TD4 witch i have had for a couple of months recently i have notice a diesel leak :( when first started in a morning it looks like it is coming from the engine next to the oil filter. Can anyone help with were this could be coming from please. After having a look it looks like it may be coming from the high pressure fuel pump.Does anyone know if this is a expensive job to do and how easy is it to replace please.

Its pretty common for the seals to fail in the HP pump. So this is the most likely cause of your leak. You can mess about with seals, which may or may not work. Or you can fit a second hand pump, or you can fit a reconditioned pump.
If you have to pay for the job to be done, then that'll add to the cost.
The seals cost about £15 plus fitting. A second hand pump can be up to £150 plus fitting. A reconditioned pump is often £500 or more, again plus fitting.

Hi thanks for the reply is there anyway you can tell if its the pump can you have them plugged in and diagnosed

It's pretty easy to check if the pump is leaking. Basically it'll be leaking, or it won't. Often the leak is just a drip every now and then, but sometimes it's a steady stream of fuel. You can't tell by a diagnostic read, unless the leak is so bad it stops the engine from running.
