I have a Freelander 2004 - Deisel TD4 engine - can anyone help me to locate the fuel filter - could not find it at the Rear driver side under the wheel arch - Took off fuel tank ect. -- can anyone help since I am not finding it.

Please guide me. :( :confused:

I know they changed them from 2003 onwards to the right hand rear but if its not ther like he says, the only other place is the engine bay and it may be an old built 2003

Good point. I wish they had left them in the position you mention, I've done my share of laying on my back under B vehicles!
 
It must be well hidden - since I still can't find it - It is a 2004 model freelander - It might be about time for me to get glasses...

Have you searched the archives on this site? The posting 'Changing TD4 fuel filter (later type)' describes position.
 
get down in front of the rear wheel, drivers side (RHD). Use a torch and look behind and to the front of the wheel arch and you will see a black plastic cowling with what looks like a large plastic screw in it. This is the housing for the filter and a fuel pump. Its held in place by two self tapping bolts up on the side furthest away from the wheel.
