Freelander 1.8

Orange warning light on dash (engine sign) intermitant on, poor aceleration at bottom end of range (750 rpm to around 1500) ok there after above 1500.

Any basic pointers folks

Cheers Dutch RR

Engine light only comes on if there is a sensor out.

If fuel pressure is low then its the MAP sensor

If its not a loose connection, you'll need to check all wiring to sensors, failing that then its a diagnostic plug in.

My guess is the crank position sensor?

Keep us posted to the verdict

Hello Folks,

Fault cleared on its own, but I did find some info one the engine light on the dash.

The light will blink and then hold solid for one second and blink again to indicate what the fault is,

Blink 1 solid Blink 1 = Throt position adjust required

Blink 1 solid blink2= MAP sensor fail

Blink 1 solid Blink 3= Air temp Sensor fail

Blink 1 solid Blink 4= Coolant Sensor fail

Blink 2 solid Blink 1 = Air Pressure Sensor fail

Blink 2 solid Blink 3 = Oxygen Sensor fail

Blink 2 solid Blink 4 Proccessor check sum fail

Will update you all if fault apears again

Cheers Dutch RR
