Hello All,
We had a FL1 and was very grateful to the guys & galls here for all there help over the 4 years of ownership, we are now a coming up for a couple of years with the replacement and the wife is considering the FL2 as a replacement to get a little more comfort and convenience, she only does about 3k miles a year so mileage covered isn't really an issue,
but what I would like to ask you all is;
Petrol Or Diesel?
HSE or HST?
2007- 2009
2010 +

I have read about the Haldex, and the need for FSH and bills for work done,
test drive and not to be rushed, but I am unsure of what would be best taking into
account the low annual mileage and other historical issues..

Looking at around 8k ish Max..

As always thank you for the advice..

I know..you said I would be back..;)

You’ll struggle to find a petrol, hse or hst is a great upgrade from fl1
Your right there are not many petrol, but as I am in no rush I would be happy to wait for the right one,
but it would be nice to get the members thought first..
its also got to be automatic..
She is quite choosy..

Be good to have you back :)

Think the diffs were made of soft cheese upto about 2010, then they upgraded to a firmer Cheddar like variety.

With the number of F1s on the road reducing, Bells are staying in business by refocussing from F1 VCUs to F2 diffs.

Overall though, the F2 does appear to be a quite reliable motor.

would be nice to be back in a Freelander,
I have a feeling it will be later this year but I may
spend some time taking a few out for test drives
to see what to look for when I am ready to get
serious and purchase one..

There are a couple of nice ones on autotrader
at the moment so depending on the distance I
may go for a visit or two..
