quick Q

Hi All, Just a quick Question for anyone with a facelift F1. on the speedo there are 2 black push buttons, the right hand one resets the trip etc.. but my left one doesn't seem to do anything at all. Can any one shed some light on what its there for please?

Is it not a dimmer switch? ie you turn it rather than push it.

What year is yours? I don't know when the facelift model came out but mine is an 03, it doesn't have a second button, just the reset one. Does yours have a second trip meter?

Trip counter reset on right hand side and temperature display change from °C to °F on the left hand side.
The EU spec FL1 facelift didn't get the dash temperature display, in fact it was just Canada that got it. The unused switch and stalk are left in place on non Canadian models, simply because it's cheaper to make less different types of display.

It is possible to fit it, but requires the Ipack ECU to be reprogrammed.

This is why I added a temperature display to the mirror on mine.

I was just looking at those buttons on my Canadian facelift this morning and wasn't sure what the second was for.
