Please ignore my ignorance as I have searched for a solution and am unable to find anything to match my symptoms.
When driving and in higher gears, it feels like the gear stick is somehow obstructed when pushing to the right. I can go up and down through the gears ok however it often stops from pushing all the way to the right where there is normally the springy bit which would put the gears back into neutral. Anyone come across this before and if so what would be the course of action or is it a garage job.

Many thanks in advance

Probably needs lubrication at base of stick, (ball and socket)
I was trying to have a look under the leather gator but I am unable to get the top of the gator away from the gear knob. I'm told the square bush pushes down from the knob and releases it however mine doesn't budge and don't want to force it

put your fingers under the inside edge of gator inside plastic surround on both sides and pull carefully.
it should lift up also pull the gator down below gearknob, and you will see a plastic tab on the side of said gearknob.
I twisted and pulled up on mine causing tabs to push out and gear knob should lift off, then remove foam wadding from underneath .
this may help or I may be talking crap as usual .
