hello all looking for someone to shed some light I have a battery drain doesn’t sleep won’t start within a day bought a new battery changed fsr which is fiddly changed the front heater switch panel and still have drain I’ve got it down to the little vent on heater switch panel as soon as I put heater on it won’t sleep after locking car so I have to take switch panel out an disconnect the small 3 pin black plug then reconnect it an then it will sleep when locked heard about a harness that was avalible not sure if mine has it I know it has a relay within harness which could have failed an would be a cheap fix as I’ve spent a fortune at garages an still not done so sorting it myself any help on this harness would be brill

I had a similar drain. Gave up trying. I bought a small solar panel that is conneted to the battery constantly. I just sits on the dash and i can leave the car for weeks and it starts no bother.

Headlamp wipers not parking correctly can cause battery drain.
Don’t have headlamp wipers I know the drain is the hevac and there was a wiring harness available by Landrover years ago want to know where this harness goes to check if mine has it fitted

There is a TSB regarding a wiring loom fix but haven’t got it with me to upload but that may not be your answer as it only related to certain VINs.
I would try and confirm it’s hevac by pulling the relevant fuses.
This looks like loom part number but check

Thanks for that mine does have the harness fitted so has suffered this before I’m going to change the relay on this harness to see if that makes a difference is the hevac unit easy to change??

This is part of the one I have, i have the full TSB if it isn't on the link.

I mean the fan that I can hear at back of dash also what’s the black cylinder thing which the harness is plugged into near the interior light on panel above pedals

Don't know, have you checked your vin range to the above TSB. If you want to pm me your email address i'll send you the whole document as it is too big to post really.
Have you confirmed for definite that it is the HEVAC causing the drain

Hi Eddie, what is the make and model of the panel? I think I'll buy one for peace of mind.
Cheers mate,
Sonny

Yes it’s on that circuit the drain but don’t know if it’s a loose wire or a module or something that’s faulty been told buy an electrician that I can put a switch into the harness as that will do the same as I do now either pulling relay out or connector block at back of heater switches panel for a few seconds something is tricking the bcum into not sleeping by this drain

Just google 12v solar trickle charger. Theres loads to choose from. Obviously the higher wattage the better but the ones i use were around the £30mark.Its helped mine. Ebay, amazon, scresfix etc

I use 20 watt solar panels with a charge controller bought separately. Total cost at the time was less than £30.
On heavily overcast days, the 20 watt panel produces barely 30ma so I don't think smaller panels are much use on the likes of the P38 that has a 30ma battery drain.
