Injector leakback test?

Glow plugs working? Have you checked them? The only real way to test glow plugs, is to check the current draw of each one. This can be done with a simple test lamp of suitable wattage. An H7 headlight bulb is ideal for this. Run suitably thick a wire from the battery positive to one connection on an H7 bulb. The other connection on the bulb is connected to the centre of each glow plug in turn. The bulb should glow brightly on connection with each glow plug. Any that don't cause the light to glow will be dead.

Sorry Jmetland I did’nt mean to hijack your thread, but it seems we’re in the same boat. I’ll try the leakback test,and glow plug test,and start a new thread with any new info.

Right so back to the freelander, I keep getting a clicking noise what I feel is the starter motor, Ive removed and connected to a battery and it works out back on freelander and clicks again, I’ve changed battery charged battery jumped battery still no difference any help etc

That's the solenoid contactors burned out. You'll need to order a contactor set for the starter. It's under £20 from EBay.

Easy replacement job, once the starter has been removed.

Then would you have any idea on why it isn’t firing and just keeps turning over, I’ve changed fuel filters etc I changed o ring

It won't turn over if the starter solenoid contactors are burned.

If it's turning over and not firing, then there's a few things to check.
MAF being faulty (unplugging it can cure a non start).
High rail sensor fault (check for corrosion on the contacts).
Low rail pressure too low (check live data).

As Nodge says though, that won't be the cause of your engine not starting if the engine is turning over when you turn the key.
