Has anyone used...

... one of these replacement turbo cartridges from eBay. They seem to be a cheaper than getting a rebuild done - this one is supposedly even hybrid.

Mine was a brand new cartridge, that ebay link you have says remanufactured.
No idea what Turbo Technics are charging, but the price I paid for mine is in the thread....link below

I used an ebay china special... 6 months all good so far.

I just bought one for £130 for a Volvo V50. It looked very good for the money.

Sadly, when the turbo was removed the garage snapped 3 of the bolts trying to get it apart and it would have cost a fortune in engineering to fix this. I gave in and fitted a new turbo. Fortunately I checked with the supplier of the cartridge when I bought it that they would accept it back if the turbo wasn't fit for reconditioning.
