He we go had a phone app running as well but update had prevented it running got it sorted now next time I am out will check speedo accuracy at 70 could be slightly over reading hence going to 75MPH ignore the date as my go pro must have gone flat and reverted to original date.

Is that a 200di?

Split us down the middle!, did sound good and got a high 3rd gear speed than standard, so guess its similar overall ratio as with an overdrive
heres the scores on the doors

Really interesting stuff. Not much published data on the series but I did manage to find this.

SWB Series 3 Petrol.
0-60 time 29.1 secs
Top Speed 69 MPH

SWB Series 3 Diesel.

0-60 time NA
Top Speed 67 MPH

LWB Series 3 2.6L.

0-60 time 31.7 secs
Top speed 73mph

Stage 1 V8

0-60 time 27.1 secs
Top Speed 86mph.

The stage 1 V8 was downtuned to 91bhp in standard form but 27.1 does seem slow

makes you wonder why they bothered that isn't much more bhp than the standard petrol is it? I suppose the higher top end is some form of bonus but I would chug along at under 70 on the motorway anyway

From memory, I think they had doubts whether the drums brakes fitted at the time could cope with more power, the 2.6 6 cylinder the Stage 1 replaced had 86bhp, so it would have been an easy transition at little extra cost.

Do we have all the HPs? As someone who drives a loaded LWB around on 63 hp I think somewhere around 80 is probably an ideal balance between speed, weight transmission load and economy.

Remember with all these acceleration tests nothing wears out transmission faster than harsh acceleration.

Standard defender 200tdi is
Power (bhp) 107 @ 3900 rpm 122 @ 4250 rpm
Torque (lbf. ft) 188 @ 1800 rpm

mine was rebuilt a couple of years ago so is probably around that i would have thought
