Anti roll bar on 2" lif

What are the likely problems which will occur if I keep my anti roll bars on a 2" lift . They are mounted in the original place without adding 2" to the chassis to accommodate.
Am I likely to run into big problems or will they be fine.
I'm on HD springs ( if that makes any difference)

It's a discovery 2 TD5

They have been known to flip up most people remove them altogether, im sure there be someone selling lowering
blocks I made my own out of box section...…

I wouldn't be able to put 2" blocks on there at the moment as the bush clamps that I have are on a hinge effect so would be awkward to put a flat bar against an uneven chassis .
What will happen if I keep them in their original position ?
And how does the vehicle handle with them removed

Mine drove horrible with the atb removed as its all twisty uneven roads here hence why ive lowered the atb's on the D1
Id need to go underneath my D2 to see how I would lower it.
 
Starting with the HD springs Land Rover advise that the rear anti roll bar should should be removed but the front item should remain, when are fitted to a D1.
A statement to that fact is in the LR parts catalogue for the D1, so possible it’s applicable with the D2 when steel rear springs are fitted and with a similar statement from LR.
As u would expect there’s no other mention by LR on vehicles fitted with other non standard springs.
 
As the vehicle is a D2, there's no need to do anything. Many people run lifted D2s with no mods to the ARBs - especially if still fitted with ACE.
I've been competing in RTV off-road trials competitions with mine for 7 years now with absolutely no issues. Full articulation, numerous times every month.

No ARBs on my D1 from new :)

Handles lovely, nice an wallowy in the corners and rolls heavy round a mini roundabout, can't see the point in having them on a lifted motor that you are going to off road, just corner a bit slower and drive with more care and it's golden.

Your also describing RR I owned, another new vehicle from Land Rover that was without anti roll bars fitted, didn’t go off road either. :)
 
Thanks for the advice. I've noticed a few different answers but my concern is that I've been told from others that it will handle like a boat if they are taken off and that's if it's lifted then I should use an extension for them to sit on.

I want it to handle nicely on the road as that's where it spends most of its time and don't want to have to think about slowing down incase it rolls lol
 
dome do, some dont. it depends on a few factors.
i have linked to spacer blocks, if you wish. On mine, it has cured the ARB from jumping over.
 
It wouldn't work the arb bush plate is a hinge style one side and a single bolt the other

Kadonkadonk1, from other posts you've made, it appears you have D2 NOT a D1.
Can you confirm it is a D2, as you're receiving proposed solutions for both, but many of which won't suit 1 or the other ?
