P38A For todays trick the fuse box burned out - in France. Solved - new fuse box now fitted and working

Nanocom is not tied to vin number but you have to have the licence for your vehicle (basically, diesel, thor or gems for p38)
As far as I know, faultmate has more functionality for things like unlocking BECM but is very expensive and needs a laptop.
For vast majority of people on here, nanocom is the only choice really.
Not cheap but worth every penny.
 
Just a shame it doesn't do the early l322. One of the reasons I've not changed to a later car is because I wouldn't want to be without nanocom!

I have the faultmate MSV-2 Extreme, bought off ebay for £150 with the box, CD, cables email to BBS and got it registered to my VIN for £47. IIRC. just emailed them to ask about adding the incoming L322 to the licence.

IIRC to open the MSV-2 extreme to all its about a grand in licencing costs. if I was buying new or again I would probably go for a nanocom purely because the MSV-2 is VIN tied. it is excellent though

You can get the Faultmate MSV 2 with open licences for the software and you do not have to buy all modules. My Faultmate is not VIN tied so will do all systems on EGR diesels and most systems apart from the engine on other P38's. I don't have the EAS module as I prefer the RSW software.

Cost me just over £700 new:eek: But has been worth it's weight in gold. Have you looked at BBS's new Android based diagnostics? Not sure if it covers your L322 as I can't access the BBS site anymore, my computer is too old.:(

A new Faultmate MSV2 unlocked for all the vehicles it covers costs €13,683.81. I'll stick with my Nanocom.;):D

It does that's for sure. But a lot of pennies for an happy amateur. Remember the Suntune diags we had on Triumph/Rover back in the day. Things have changed a bit. It took two people to move the bloody thing around. :D;)
 
A bloke used to come round and service the Suntune unit, can't for the life of me remember his name now. But he was a very very famous at the time motorcycle racer.
