Hi all I need some advice I was driving last night went in to the shop and when I got back I the old Girl she would not start so we bumped it to get it home and on the way home I had a ESA FAULT come up so today I replaced the relay and the 30a fuse and it started up after about 30 seconds the 30a fuse blow and I still have the EAS FAULT what is the best way forward places plases

.hi mate its the big 30a fuse on top of the fuse box
Which 30A fuse are you replacing?

To pop a 30A fuse is pretty much a dead short. IF it is the Compressor fuse, then your compressor could be fecked!

It's the big 30A in the engine fuse box I thought it might have been the case that the compressor mite be fecked all the air has gone is there away I can put air back in ???

Are you able to start the car??

Maxi Fuse number 2 (30A) powers both the EAS Compressor Relay and also the Starter Relay!

Disconnect the EAS Compressor, replace the fuse and see if a) you can start the car normally and b) the fuse doesn't pop....

If it works, EAS Compressor is fecked, if it still pops, look at the starter circuits.

With the fuse blown you will get EAS error and no starter. You need to find out which one is blowing the fuse by elimination and work from there

Edit, beaten to it

It dose start with out the compressor connected so it will be the compressor fecked is there anyway of getting air back in as its a rely bumpy rid

Yep......replacement compressor!!! :D:D:D:D

There is a method of using schreider valves tee'd into the airbag lines (used to be called MARS kit - might still be) but if you ask me it is a bit of a bodge!...and the more connections you make in the airlines, more likely they will to leak.

If the system has no leaks and the bags are inflated cant see why not just lock the height and pull the black relay under the passenger seat to stop it self levelling and loosing air.
if its on the bump stops very bumpy ride, and probably means you have an air leak which could be why the pump has gone working over time trying to feed it.

You can still drive it, but it says 35mph max for a reason! Its sitting on the bump stops so it gets very bumpy on anything other than perfect roads. I drove mine for 4 miles like that and that was enough.

It will only self level and lose air from the bags IF there is a leaking bag. The rest drop to match it.

A dead compressor most likely means one or more airsprings are leaking. Removing the 4 suspension pipes from the valve block and fitting Schrader valves as a temporary measure will keep you going and also show up a leaking airspring. Inflate to about 60psi in steps corner by corner.

I did take the compressor off last night and toke it apart and it was seized it is now free so I'll put it back on today and see what happens I'll let you all know thanks all for you comments

What had seized the rear bearing or the piston? If it was the piston, the plastic piston ring will have melted and is unlikely to produce much pressure.
