Do headlight protectors effect the beam in any way . I have a pair and not sure if to fit them .
I've got them fitted and can't say I notice any difference. You could always try holding them in front of the headlight (facing a wall and at night obviously) and see if you can notice anything

No problem :)

Where chips can be made?? you drive yours in the chippy?
On a more serious note I took mine in for its mot a few years ago, told them I had taken the headlamp protectors off for the mot. Tester said i doesn't usually affect the headlamp test, Iv'e had a few mot's since then with them on and it has always passed.

Yes, mine does go to the chippy occasionally, was actually referring to the fact that the 'light protectors' in the picture are made from chip frying basket things (look carefully and you can see the handles):cool:

Clear covers with a constant thickness shouldn't affect the beam, nor should wire guards. The old Lucas converters (usually yellow) will affect the beam as they were originally intended to deflect the headlamps for continental touring.

I'm all for things on my truck having at least 2 uses - a chip fryer and a light guard...inspired!
I've actually got the bar type, and they've saved at least 2 headlamps from stupid pheasants that can't get out of the way quickly enough. No effect on the light output -which is pretty crap anyway, TBH,- but equally no probs with MoT.

Think i will get them fitted now i know they will be ok , I just did not want to put holes in only to take them off again .
You might want to get the type that have Dzus fasteners and hinges so you can get at the headlights more easily for cleaning etc. I've used both, and prefer the quick-release.

That's them . genuine landrover grills but had no fitting kit but i managed to get the hinges separately . Looking at a cheap rivnut gun for the top fasteners .
