Upgraded intercooler 300tdi

A quick question,

Has anyone fitted one of these intercoolers? and if so any real world reports of an improvement? Idea being I suppose it bolts in the same original position but should be better at its job. Oh and yes I know it is not a Ferrari......

I thought yours was
I'd expect you to already have an unrated intercooler to compliment your pump tweets!

I like to pretend it is a ferrari, I even wear my 1980's folding ferarri (sp) sunglasses ( do you remember those ?) ...But no, never got round to fitting an uprated one, I did fit a 2nd hand replacement as the old one was a bit leaky in the bottom corner. Probably not worth it, but with the pin n' ring , tweaked pump and a small upping of the boost it may be something to look at doing in the future. A full width one will not fit with the winch in place anyway.

fitted the alisport one a couple of months ago. it took a bit more trimming of the front metal work to make it fit but nothing serious at all. Definitely more power! I tweaked the fuel pin as advised (after trying a boost pin that I think put out too much smoke) - not sure I've got that set right. At some point I'll want the turbo looked at (or go variable) and then get someone to properly tune it. I think it's worth it though. better fuel economy on long journeys for sure, on the short ones my foots too heavy.

Thanks for the info, was that the full width allisport intercooler or the std width one?

full width. standard pipes all fitted but was a little more awkward to get them all to reach.

Thanks, problem is the winch is in the way for a full width one, will be looking for an upgrade on the std postion one if I do chnage it. Although the old thing goes quite well as it is and the EGT is not bad.

No, can't remember those.
If you put an uprated intercooler on in theory you'll get a more efficient bang. EGT could go up. However, you could tweek the pump back then, getting the same power as you have now, but with reduced EGT's. Just a thought
