TD5 Binnacle

I’m not sure how many different binnacles are available but mine is pretty knackered so I was going to replace it with one of the metal Raptor ones. Then I noticed that they are different! I have a 2000 (pre facelift) dash but have a different binnacle. The ones they sell, along with most others, the warning light panel screws on from the outside however mine screws on from the inside!

Does anyone know the part number for mine?

I had to get one for mine at the beginning of the year, I ended up getting it from Paddocks at a price. Part number is YAF100080

Excellent, thank you. That price isn’t too bad, my old one has limped on for 18 years!

I’ve also asked Raptor about it as there was a post on here from 2015 where someone had contacted them and they’d said they would be making them “soon”, but obviously that was 4 years ago!

I think they are now making them, as my friend has the same thing in his TD5 and has just fitted a raptor one. I think the website has a note on it saying to contact them regarding the model required if you are unsure. He phoned them up and may have sent in a pic of his current dash but they had what he needed and fitting was really easy and vast improvement. It is on my list as soon as the plastic feet brake of my one.

They replied this morning saying exactly that! and confirmed from a photo mine is the later type.

I think the metal support for it all is more use than a metal binnacle but having both in metal will be a vast improvement

I think the are both good, both of the originals have flimsy plastic parts tabs which break if you are not careful. His does fit really nicely, and at a glance looks original. It only when you actually look at it properly you can tell it is the raptor one.
