It would appear I've failed with bridging the breaks in my rear windscreen heater using the copper paint I bought. There was no condensation my neck of the woods to be sure this morning, so I kept breathing on the glass between swigs of coffee. What appeared was the outline of a land rover logo with 'the best 4 x 4 x far'. Now I know the windscreen isn't the original, but I'm wondering if this phrase would've been on my windscreen in 1992 when it left the factory? Also, mine wasn't a county (it's a van type/no windows in the cargo area). Again, the car has been done up and resprayed, but is it possible that this decal would have been on it originally?

Thanks for any help. I'm afraid I ask more than I help at the moment, but it's only cos I don't know much at the moment.

I don’t think the ‘Best 4x4xFar’ decals were factory-fitted, but it was an official Land Rover slogan at the time, so may well have been fitted at a dealership.
There would have been ‘hockey stick’ side decal stripes, but not the County ones above, they would have been these :

Brilliant. Thanks for that. It's a new 1979 ford colour now. On original defenders, do you think it would've been the brown and orange hockey sticks or grey? Cheers.

What do ya'll think of sticker bombing on landies? Dunno about the main body, but I love the wheel cover. Bit contrived doing it in one from ebay though perhaps?

Like fridge magnets I guess, pick one up whenever you visit somewhere noteworthy and memorable. As you say, don’t do it in one hit, that ain’t right! Oh, and no ‘One Life Live It’ whatsoever.
I was thinking about that one. I thought about the 'you can go fast. i can go anywhere' one too, but realised I only wanted it to apologise for going slow. I've got over that now.
