Not only do I have to SUFFER the pain of selling my 110 and my P38.....but the baby Bimmer has found a great way to ensure the longevity of the water pump bearings.....

By ensuring a supply of oil is maintained to the inner workings for lubrication and cooling purposes......

How thoughtful................

I was in renault scenic once that decided to do that on a garage forecourt once, that looks quite clean and tidy to the explosion of fluids we found lifting the bonnet.

T'other way round.....oil leaking into coolant. Oil remains clean, expansion tank is full of chocolate.

Its 99% head gasket, blown between an oil and water gallery, engine runs fine, no water loss, no pressurisation of hoses, hoses firm but not rock solid, several sniff tests are all negative.....

I did check the oil cooler, but that looks OK, so cheif suspect is hg.

The emulsion looks so clean and good is because I change my oils regualrly!!!

Yep stupid me just got up head not right yet. Changed it Thanks Ant.

I dunno, all the German stuff I have ever bought has been worse than Chinese, from a new Porsche to a vacuum cleaner all have been unreliable.

Everybody makes crap at some stage early Opals were a joke but nothing like as bad as the Renault Dauphine. The uprated sport model Dauphine aerostable had two straps hung from the body around the back axle to stop body roll. I kid you not.

That was supposed to stop the swing axle tucking under like the Triumph Herald
