Picked up a nice one.

I picked this tidy little 300tdi 90 a few weeks back. A friend owned it for 12+ years and looked after it well, it drives like new, very tight with 103,000 miles.
I wasn't looking for another truck, it just kinda happened, but as yet i'm not 100% set as to what to do with it, keep it standard and honest looking, or complete refurb and modernize it?????
My daily driver is a 110sw Td5, so the 90 isn't going to get a lot of use.

Very nice. Looks good enough to just keep clean and maintained. Hope you have covered parking for it if you wont be using it often

Very nice. I would modernize it with things like heated seats,electric windows central locking but keep it mostly standard looking on the outside.

Get rid of the alloys, spot lights, chequer plate, County stripe. Put it back to standard

Luckily it has checker plate on the sills only, I've already removed the soft nudge bar, spots and alloys, i thought the 'Defender stripe' was original though, but i may be wrong, it's defo still the original paint.

I'll be sending time more than money on it. I'll be galvanizing the chassis and bulkhead as a must, probably the door frames, body cappings etc as well, after that i don't know!

The alloys may be correct for the period, but only on County Station Wagons, I think the stripe has been added on - I believe only Counties had stripes during the 300tdi era, in which case there should be “County” lettering on the end of the stripe, this may have been lost over time, but the wheel arches would be self-coloured if County spec.
Still nice though! All of this may be bollox too, Land Rovers are very customisable, even from new, and I’m on theThatchers Gold.
