Hi All ,
I bought a set of led replacement bulbs and an electronic flasher unit , the front all work and the number plate bulbs are ok but for some reason side/brake and indicator led bulbs will not work .

If I put normal bulbs back in all work , ive checked led bulbs with a wire on battery and they all work , all conections and earths are good , any body any ideas or similar issues that they cured and could share how they sorted it

Thanks in advance Russ

Sorted indicators I thought all electronic replacement relays would be suitable for led bulbs but they are not so another relay is needed and the led stop tail light bulbs are faulty , found this out by putting them in my car and still did not work , Thanks for reading and reply

Some of the cheap eBay ones are side or stop, not side and stop. Even though they have double contacts. I have tried a few on the bench and they produce the same light from each circuit. In other words they only have one circuit. I did find some that worked but the cars wiring went tuts up so I went back to normal bulbs. The wiring is sorted now so I should re fit them. When I can find them:oops:

+1 on above - I wasted hours when I fitted LED stop/tails to my trailer, and as you say, they are stop or tail and if they get power to both they go off, no where does it say that.

There's a reason these things aren't e-marked. If you want LED lamps, you can get replacement lamp units the same size as the originals with LEDs built in. Clear or coloured lens depending on your preference. Otherwise, stick to bulbs.

Yes but they look crap in a series. The led bulbs I eventually got are exactly the same as the original but I don’t have to replace them every other month like the others.

I still haven't found stop/tails that work reliably. Interior, intrument and sidelights are LED now and working well but despite a very costly electronic flasher I've also failed to get the indicators working on LEDs.

I got mine off ebay as a set. The stop tails didnt work as above and when I inquired he sent me out the ones that worked. They have a glass lens in the end like a marble in a short tube.
I was worried about them being too directional so I glued a 10p in the center of the stop lens to defuse them a bit. The light bounces round the lens quite well now.

I have been going mad trying to get the stop tail lights working after being sent replacement bulbs but after bench checking they must be a single circuit as Bobsticle says some look like stop tail but are not , I also wanted to keep the series look but update the lights

THey seem to be "stop or tail" not "stop and tail" and work ok in modern cars that cut the tail lights when the brake lights come on. I've noticed a lot of new cars also cut the side lights when the indicators are on. Can't see the point.

This will be on cars where the DRL and indicator are very close together, or are actually the same lamp. The logic is that the DRL is potentially bright enough to mask the indicator, so it switches off on that side when indicating. If the side light and indicator are combined, it similarly switches off so you get a defined 'on/off' cycle rather than 'amber/white'. It just makes the indicator clearer.

If it's like my 110 you have a single Bulb in the dash board that flashes with the indicators, this effectively shorts out the LEd indicators. You need a couple of diodes added in the circuit to stop it. The circuit is on LZ somewhere.

I have boltonbits NAS stop tails they worked perfectly. ..

I just replaced the bulbs in the little green triangles to led anorl. ;)

Oh and I forgot to mention.
I’ll be starting all over again when the camper trailer is ready for electrickery.

That should cock up the led side of things

Put these in the Landy (or is it the offset pin type - BAZ15D) and they are plug and play:

Not cheap but works and are nice and bright but out of stock at the minute. Got them in the TVR's as well as both sets of lights aren't the best. Tried some cheap chinese ones but none worked and it was just throwing more money away.
Just changed the rear indicators on the TVR with these as the lights are now much brighter you can hardly see the indicator:

Seem to be varying discounts so sometimes nearly $30-32. Again not cheap but actually work and don't hyperflash..
