TD4 arrived.
Clutch pedal is on the floor. I can lift it, then press and quickly switch to gear or neutral. Then pedal goes down again, clutch remains engaged.
Maybe someone knows how to know if it is bad slave or master cylinder?

Are you losing fluid? If yes where’s the puddle?
Slave cylinder only has 1 pipe,if it’s not working surely you would get fluid out. You may need to just pull off the rubber gaitor to check.
Master if it leaks usually just leaks back to tank, not always.
It could be a mix of both, remove pipe from master and plug it,hows the pedal now? (Not that simple in practice but if you understand the workings it’s easy)

Not really expensive parts, replace both anyway and have done with it?

Not a freelander eggsquirt but.
Get in amongst it and look.

You have to take the gearbox out to change the slave on a TD4, it may be cheap but its a big job. ...and while you're at it you may as well change the clutch, and people always replace the flywheel with the clutch these days, turns out not so cheap either.

Not that I know what the OP's problem is! As you say OP has some investigation to do - I think though (going by threads on here) hydraulic issues on TD4 normally end up being the master.

WOW that’s a “great” design.

Get somebody to push the clutch pedal and look for disturbance in the reservoir (don’t look to close it might squirt out and get you)

Good luck not such a cheap job as I first thought, or easy.

This td4 arrived today, tomorrow or monday i will make investigation, and maybe will try to replace master cylinder. I'm engine technician (K&KV), not clutch (and M47), so that would be something new.

First problems. Turbo on td4 not working (i hear that rotation is good, but no air pressure). On 2000, 2500rpm hoses are soft. Lack of power, white- grey smoke when accelerating, like over fueling.
Which should be first steps?
