Yes we have all had some sort of damage in the past with potholes, cracked alloys, broken springs etc etc but here is a new one for you, started Rangy and drove down road flooring it turbo kicks in with a good old surge, stopped at end of close, turned right and surged it again then suddenly hit pothole and loss of power. Had a short journey to do so decided to carry on but no real power as turbo not kicking in or so I thought, kickdown huge black smoke out of both exhaust pipes like something built by Gas Monkeys, so gingerly drove it back home thinking turbo cracked, oil seals blown or engine completely f..ked, imagine my relief when upon lifting bonnet I spy the problem straight away, the intercooler pipe had blown off the end of the EGR valve, 2 mins with a screw driver and new jubilee clip and jobs a gooden, could have kissed her

I hit a pothole on the 30mph road into Manchester airport terminal 1 money grabbing circuit yesterday. It was that bad that the jolt kicked of an SRS lamp that is now hard. I can't clear it... It was that wide and deep I thought I'd broken my suspension!

Yep we've nearly all become victims of the acne craters of the tarmac ribbon, these days. Most of us by merrily driving along and not being able to avoid the buggers , either because its dark/ wet/ hidden by the big truck that went over it without touching it.
However, have to say the opening post is making the former cop in me scream, and also think 'well hell mend you, maybe you wont "floor it" , whilst still in an obviously built up area of a "close", or 'surging' on the next road . If you hadn't been flooring it , you' just might have seen it and avoided it. You got off lightly this time, next time it might be a wheel, or worse.
As I am no longer a cop , I won't say any of that. Instead I will just think 'prat'.[/QUOTE]

For the record I have held a completely clean driving license for 44yrs, no points, no speeding fines, not even a parking ticket despite having driven over 1,600,000 miles and as well as passing my driving test first time . Pothole, should maybe have been a sleeping Policeman lol

You have to floor the P38 turbo-wheezle to get it to move! Until that turbo kicks in @1700 it is decidedly nonchalant.

My pothole made my SRS light come on. I thought my bloody suspension had failed at the back! But nope, SRS code 08 - permanent drivers airbag fail, then intermittent drivers airbag fail. Now it's gone off hahaha.

The road into T1 Manchester Airport car park roads. It is very wide and very deep. Ridiculous and should be fixed.
