Thought I’d create a thread on Defender dashboard options, to see what’s possible for myself and anyone else out there.

Is it usually a near fit when installing a new puma type dash to an old defender? -expensive to buy though?

Has anyone modified a discovery/ rrc dash to fit?

Any dashboards out there from other cars that are a good fit?

Personally not into the bolt on centre dash unit, although other may :)

All comments welcome!

If you don’t like a centre console what are you hoping to achieve by swapping the dash? All the later models do is give you a centre console covered in plastic rather than a bolt in metal one?

If you know what you want, the only way to really get it is to make your own. In my experience the standard dash is for standard people - if you want something more you have to go bespoke.

Its a good point, I feel that the bolt on one is too (dare I say it) bolt on, I’m personally after a clean, all one unit type of dashboard that makes the interior look new.

I’m a fan of the puma dash but they are quite pricey for the average joe

What @ogb said, custom, made to how you want it.

Mine's standard, 'cept for the bolted in camera mount, few switches, got a Mud Stuff and other switchgear to go in soon .. it changes with how my driving needs change. I've gone for a Mud Stuff simply 'cos it was cheap (Off Landyzone), clean looking and I need to de-clutter the rest of the cab as well ... ;)
