Hi im new to this so please bare with me.

I own a FL1 td4... it juddders and knocks and used to smoke until fuel filter replaced and EGR valve was blanked off but it still judders and knocks as if misfiring ...but only between 1000 & 2500 rpm above 2500rpm it is fine again... or when idling, its had new fuel filters... now there is no engine managment lights that have come on nor has it gone into limp mode, . I have also noticed when unlocking car it now beeps at me when i undo door as if alarm/immobiliser isn't disconnecting... this maybe a coincidence or not i don't know... any ideas from anyone please ...??? Many.thanks

At a guess could need injectors overhauling but diag should be fist step i think

Injectors likely need a refurb but check the rail sensor for corrosion first.

It doesn't have a limp mode.

The remote fob battery is failing, which is what that warning is all about. ;)

Just got my my freelander 1 td4 plugged in and checked for faults due to not starting and no power at the low pressure pump, I had found corrosion on the high pressure sensor cleaned the contact and she has ran ever since, the guy using the scanner is a genius, he felt she was running a bit rough at idle, he showed me how the ECU sees the injectors adjust the fuel input to attempt to smooth the engine idle, he explained the perimeters the ECU was setting the injectors to and identified the faulty injectors. I had these refurbed and the engine purrs like a kitten, people have scanners etc but knowing what your looking at and how to use them makes all the difference.
