Hello everyone, im back again i need a little bit of advice (or a lot)

My sisters car decided to break down the other day on the motorway, she said she was drive fine then lost power down to about 40mph. She limped it home to me.

The day after when started its pumping out white smoke, i began to have a look first i have changed the crankcase filter with the BMW mod.

There is loads of oil in the piping that leads away from the EGR Valve ( i think its connected to the Turbo somewhere)

Anyways, im lost now. I have checked all the pipes to the turbo and around

Only other thing to note is when the engine is running and i get someone to rev it the pipes leaving the EGR valve compress and then release...is that normal?

Sounds like your intercooler hoses need replacing, but when they've had it you usually get black smoke so I guess there is something else going on too.

When you say loads of oil, what does that mean? There will always be some oil dampness in the boost pipes, as a small amount of oil is thrown from the turbo under normal operation.

If the oil is running out or pooling in the pipes, then the turbo has failed.

It suggesting there's no boosting from the turbo.

No. The pipes should pressurise, not suck in.

Sounds like the turbo has failed to me.

Yes when i say a lot of oil i mean after a few mins of running the oil pours out.

Are they any ways of fully checking the turbo?

It's the turbo failed. No other checks are needed, the quantity of oil says it all.
Additionally. Don't start the engine again. It's very possible for a diesel engine to run on the oil in the inlet system. This causes a condition call diesel run away, where the engine runs flat out on the oil. This almost always ends in complete engine seizure or a broken crank. It's a condition that needs to be avoided, unless you fancy changing engines as well as turbos.
