Good morning everyone.

I come in desperation.

Upon return of my brother's wedding on Monday I was driving along the fast lane of the m25 when I lost all power and dangerously had to maneuver my way to the hard shoulder. Turned engine off, re-started. engine appeared okay. Went to rev and bellows of smoke out the rear and engine wouldn't rev up. 7 hour wait for recovery, 5 hour journey back to Mid Wales.
So now my poorly Freelander is sat there looking sad for itself. Had a look myself and everything appears as it should.
HOWEVER. Let the engine idle, all is fine. The second you touch the accelerator pedal the 2 hoses from the intercooler completely flatten and choke the engine. I've removed the intercooler, not blocked. Removed the inlet, egr, air filter, no blockages. No play in the turbo and it spools up okay.
Leave one of the intercooler pipes disconnected and the engine revs fine.

Any idea folks? End of my tether. It's a 2002 td4.

Thankyou.
